Zunheboto Residents Launch Tourism Association to Boost Local Growth

Kohima: Zunheboto residents met at Khonheche Cafe on June 27 to launch a local unit of the Nagaland Tourism Association. They want to open up the district to outsiders. The goal is to sell the region as a destination while protecting local culture.

The group plans to push for eco-tourism, adventure travel, and community-based projects. They intend to work alongside the Department of Tourism to get things moving. Members aim to "identify and promote the untapped tourism potential of Zunheboto district."

The unit elected Holoka T. Sumi as president and Vino Achumi as general secretary. Tokavi K. Zhimo will serve as media secretary with Vitoka Yepthomi handling the money as treasurer. Viza Zhimomi and Kavitoli K. Sumi are the new programme coordinators.

The leadership team includes executive members Gloria Awomi, Tughuka Muru, and Khekivi Awomi. Ivan Zhimomi and Tavinto Sumi will serve as advisors. The team now turns its focus to putting these plans into practice.
