Kohima: Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa is opening the doors for new two-wheeler taxi permits. The Regional Transport Authority wants to push self-employment for indigenous people in the district. It is a push for local jobs. Eligible candidates must be between 20 and 40 years old and hold a valid driving license.
Grab application forms at the Deputy Commissioner’s office for Rs 100. You need to get them turned in by October 1. Do not mess up the paperwork. Incomplete applications get tossed out immediately.
You must provide specific documents. Include an Indigenous Inhabitants Certificate or a Permanent Resident Certificate from Tuensang. Add a valid driving license, an unemployment certificate from the District Employment Officer, and a government ID like an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or PAN Card. The district is following guidelines from the Transport Department Notification dated August 13, 2019.
The officials will vet the applicants. On October 6, they will post a list of riders who made the cut for the driving test. Look for the list on the notice boards at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner or the District Transport Office in Tuensang.
