Kohima: Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa led the Tuensang District Planning and Development Board meeting on September 7. The board reviewed disaster recovery efforts. An Inter Ministerial Centre Team recently conducted an aerial survey of landslide sites across the district after coordinating with the District Disaster Management Authority.
SDPO Dr. Akash Sinha, an IPS officer, briefed the board on a Special Investigation Team probe. The team is currently tracking cases of government employees holding double employment within the state. Officers prioritized this investigation during the session at the DC conference hall.
The board formally approved registration for the Hills Development Welfare Society and the Haojam Integrated Welfare Society. Urban Development representative Tinoakhum Longchar delivered a presentation on local departmental activities. He specifically detailed the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, which he noted, "came into effect from April 1, 2026 in the State."
Members assessed infrastructure damage at Sao Chang College and discussed ongoing road blockages caused by heavy rains. The board officially welcomed two new members, District Fisheries Officer Rulanthung Ezung and Assistant Urban Development Officer Tinoakhum Longchar.
