Kohima: Thirty officer trainees kicked off their four-month Foundation Training at the Administrative Training Institute in Kohima on November 2. The recruits belong to the 56th batch of the Nagaland Secretariat Service. They earned their spots through the Nagaland Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination.
Peter Konyak, a computer lecturer, chaired the inaugural event. Each trainee introduced themselves before Course Coordinator Kaholi Sema explained the curriculum goals. Sema stressed the need for professional training to sharpen administrative skills and build competency. The institute's Additional Director, Bendanglila, also attended the session.
V. Shashank Shekhar, the Additional Chief Secretary and Director General of the institute, led the address. He told the new hires that success demands relentless effort. "Such achievements could be attained only through continuous hard work," Shekhar said. He pushed the group to act as role models for both the state and fellow citizens.
Shekhar reminded the trainees that the secretariat serves as the state's central think tank for policy. He demanded total integrity and discipline from the staff. Officers must prioritize transparent, citizen-centric work to keep the government running efficiently.
