Nagaland Census Training Begins for 2027 Population Count

Kohima: Census training started Monday in Kohima. Thirty-five officials from the Directorate of Census Operations in Nagaland are attending the three-day program. This marks the start of preparations for Phase II of the 2027 Census.

National trainers Mhathung Rangthang and Vaibhav Sharma are leading the sessions. They teach technical operations for the Census portal and mobile application. They also cover specific schedules and terminology. Imkongnungsang, Deputy Director of DCO Nagaland, said the training marks the beginning of preparations for Phase II of Census 2027 in the State.

More than 6,500 staff members will receive training over the next two months. These experts will move to district levels throughout October. They plan to spread the instructions across the state to ensure the count goes smoothly.
