Kohima: Mokokchung District Two-Wheeler Taxi Association members must wear uniforms and helmets. The group set these new rules during a September 5, 2026, general meeting. Riders and permit holders gathered at the home of treasurer I. Yanger Lemtur to finalize the mandate. They aim to boost safety and professionalism.

Lemtur spoke to the crowd during the session. He told the riders to follow the association constitution and act with integrity. "Discharge their duties with dignity, integrity and responsibility towards the public," Lemtur said. The group intends to provide better service for Mokokchung residents.

The association also picked office bearers for the 2026 to 2028 term. They remain focused on keeping order among riders. All taxi operators must now comply with the uniform and safety gear standards to continue working.
