Tseminyu police train on organic farming techniques

Kohima: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kohima hosted an organic farming workshop for Tseminyu police on September 17. The session took place at the local Superintendent of Police office. Fifty-seven officers attended the training. They learned how to manage nutrients for Rabi crops and grow kitchen gardens.

Tumchobemo Yanthan, the Additional Superintendent of Police, attended the event. Imtinuksung, an expert in soil conservation, led the technical instruction. He detailed the use of biofertilisers and liquid formulations to improve soil quality. This helps boost crop yields. The training also pushed for chemical-free produce to cut household costs.

Staff used Soil Organic Detection Kits for live demonstrations. The session focused on the long-term gains of organic soil management. Officials concluded the day by handing out Rabi seed kits to the participating officers. The organizers emphasized the "importance of kitchen gardens in providing nutritional security, reducing household expenditure and ensuring chemical free vegetables throughout the year."
