Guwahati: Tripura University researchers hit the ground in Sivasagar to tackle a clean water crisis. Floods crippled local supplies, leaving families in Barhoiting Nagaon and Banmukh Patorgaon without basic necessities. The team brought InstaWater. This portable purification tech cleans local water sources on the spot.
Sivasagar district administration cleared the path for the operation. They helped the team reach the isolated, hard-to-access villages. The startup system replaces the need for hauling heavy bottled water over long, difficult distances. It puts the plant directly at the point of need.
Prof Harjeet Nath started the company and teaches at the university. He believes local gear saves lives when disaster strikes. "It is immensely satisfying to see our indigenous technology making a real difference during emergencies. Our mission has always been to ensure that no community is deprived of safe drinking water during disasters," Nath said. He credited the local government for coordinating the relief push. The tech remains built for rapid deployment during catastrophes.
