Agartala: A portable water purification system from Tripura University is fighting the Assam flood crisis. The startup, known as InstaWater, reached isolated villages in the Sivasagar district this week. Flooding turned clean water into a rare commodity. Residents in Barhoiting Nagaon and Banmukh Patorgaon faced a desperate situation.
The team brought their patented mobile tech directly to the affected families. They pulled water from local sources and scrubbed it clean on the spot. No one had to haul heavy bottles over flooded roads. The Sivasagar district administration cleared the path for the crew to enter the most restricted areas.
Prof. Harjeet Nath, the founder of InstaWater and an assistant professor at the university, led the mission. He sees this as a test of the startup's core mission. "It is immensely satisfying to see our indigenous technology making a real difference during emergencies," Nath stated. The team credits the local government for the successful coordination of the relief effort.
This hardware was built specifically for rapid disaster response. It works where standard infrastructure fails. The project shows how school-born innovation can solve immediate humanitarian headaches in the field.
