Agartala: A Tripura University startup brought clean water to Assam. M.Tech student Ashim and technician Santanu arrived in the Amguri region. They deployed patented mobile purification gear to help 30 flood-hit families. The team supplied over 2,000 litres of safe water.
Founder and Assistant Professor Harjeet Nath says the system treats contaminated surface water on the spot. It fills a gap when conventional infrastructure fails. Nath explained the mission, stating, "Access to safe drinking water is one of the most urgent needs during floods. Through indigenous technology developed in Tripura, our objective is to provide immediate relief to affected communities while reducing the risk of water-borne diseases. We remain committed to supporting disaster response efforts wherever required."
The unit works for rapid deployment during humanitarian emergencies. The startup has handled similar disaster relief across the country since its start. This project turns university research into practical aid for those in crisis.
