Agartala: Tripura Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury met with empanelled rice mill owners on July 28 to prep for the 2026-27 Kharif Marketing Season. Held at the Civil Secretariat, the session included the Principal Secretary, the Director, and other senior department staff. They need rice now. The group discussed finishing the Custom Milled Rice production on time while keeping quality high.
Chowdhury demanded better coordination between the millers and his department to stop supply chain delays. He wants strict adherence to the established timelines to keep food flowing to Public Distribution System beneficiaries. Efficiency is the goal. Officials spent time reviewing ways to increase transparency and accountability while cutting out procedural bottlenecks in the grain supply chain.
"Work with a greater sense of responsibility and close coordination for the successful implementation of the KMS 2026-27 programme," Chowdhury told the attendees. The state is betting on this collaborative approach to keep the procurement and milling process moving without any interruptions. Every official now faces pressure to streamline operations before the harvest season kicks off.
