Tripura Mountaineer Carries Rural Mission Logo to Aconcagua Summit

Agartala: Mountaineer Aritra Roy planted the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) logo atop Mount Aconcagua in Argentina this January. The summit sits in South America as one of the highest points on Earth. It was a long climb. Roy carried the emblem to represent the dreams and hard work of thousands of women in Tripura’s self-help groups, known locally as SHG Didis.

TRLM staff shared the news on social media. They thanked Roy for hoisting the mission flag at such a brutal altitude. The mission stated, "From the hills of Tripura to the heights of Aconcagua and Everest," the spirit of soaring high continues to move people across the state. This stunt aims to show that these women face no limits in their own ambitions.

Roy is a trailblazer in local athletics. Last year, he became the first person from Tripura to summit Mount Everest. His climbing record now serves as a major point of inspiration for youth and community groups throughout the state.
