Three Men Arrested in Assam Over Attempted Trafficking of Minor Girl

Guwahati: Geleki police in the Sivasagar district of Assam arrested three men from Rajasthan on allegations that they attempted to transport a minor girl to their home state. The suspects, identified as Mohan Ram, Rajesh Bhati, and Sukhram, had reportedly been staying at a residence in Kolgaon Bogi Chapori village for three days.

Authorities intervened as the men were finalizing arrangements to take the 15-year-old girl out of Assam. Officers successfully rescued the teenager during the operation. Police also took the girl's grandfather, Suleman Laik, into custody for questioning regarding his potential role in the scheme.

Officials stated, "Efforts are underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident and whether others may have been involved." Investigators continue to question all four detainees to uncover the full extent of the case.
