Kohima: Tetso College honored 383 graduates at Lorin Hall in Chümoukedima on August 13. Students from MA, BA, BSW, BCA, B.Com, and BBA programs crossed the stage. The event drew nearly 800 people. It marked a major milestone for the Class of 2026.
Rev. Dr. Wati Aier delivered the commencement address. He serves as an Emeritus Professor and convenor for the Forum for Naga Reconciliation. He urged the graduates to use their education to fix a broken world. He described graduation as "the end of a beginning." Aier pushed the students to fight corruption and inequality. He reminded them that human structures can be changed.
Chairman Kvulo Lorin spoke next. He stressed the importance of staying true to one's roots. He warned students against trying to outpace technology. "Don't try to outpace a machine. Be something it cannot be," Lorin stated. He also announced plans for new Law and Physical Education programs, pending approval from Nagaland University. The college is currently pursuing autonomous status.
The ceremony included the symbolic watering of the Tree of Hope. The Class of 2026 funded a scholarship for a third-semester Psychology student to show their commitment to their peers.
