Kohima: Nagaland University agreed to let 367 students challenge their Four-Year Undergraduate Programme results. The school backtracked on strict rules after pressure from the All Nagaland College Students’ Union. These students previously hit a wall because they scored single digits or failed to reach the mandatory 20 percent mark for re-evaluation.
The deal followed an July 27 meeting between union leaders and university officials. It stems from a formal appeal filed on July 22, 2026. Students now have a path forward. The union will hand a consolidated list of these names to the school to start the process. Once the university processes that list, every affected student gets to look at their original answer scripts.
University policy on this specific group is changing. "In the event that a student is not satisfied with the tabulation or award of marks after verification of the answer script, he or she shall be allowed to apply for re-evaluation, notwithstanding the existing eligibility criterion," the official resolution states.
Affected students must act fast. You have two days to report your name and roll number to your local college students’ council. Those councils must then forward the final list to Assistant General Secretary Imnawabang T Lkr. You can reach his office at 8794280962.
The university also addressed errors regarding minor subjects. Colleges have exactly one month to submit those corrections. If your minor subject shows up wrong, call your college administration immediately. The union maintains that it will keep pushing to protect student rights.
