Gangtok: Flash floods on the Bhotekoshi River killed at least 162 people in Nepal on Wednesday. Roughly 400 remain missing. The surge destroyed homes, vehicles, and infrastructure across three districts. Fears grow that this will be one of Nepal’s deadliest disasters.

The Embassy of India in Kathmandu also launched lines at +977 985 131 6807, +977 970 910 7500, and +977 981 032 6117 to assist via phone or WhatsApp. Authorities state, "The high death toll and large number of people still unaccounted for have raised fears that the disaster could become one of Nepal's deadliest in recent years."
