Gangtok: Tseten Tashi Bhutia, Chief Advisor to the Sikkim BJP unit, is demanding total transparency from the state government. He argues that being part of the National Democratic Alliance does not grant a free pass for mismanagement. Political ties cannot shield leaders from intense public scrutiny.

The push comes after Chief Minister P.S. Tamang praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 25 years of public service. Bhutia welcomed the praise but warned that state governance must match the standards set at the federal level. He insisted that investigators must probe all corruption allegations regardless of who is in charge.

Bhutia released a statement titled Sikkim First: Accountability, Transparency and Political Clarity to clarify his stance. He specifically questioned the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha leadership on their current partnership with the BJP. He noted that the state must protect its unique identity and constitutional safeguards under Article 371F above all else.

Four core principles now guide his agenda. No alliance provides immunity from accountability. No political relationship ranks higher than the public interest. Silence is not consent. He reminded the public that loyalty to the Center requires vigilance at home. As Bhutia stated, "Sikkim deserves accountable governance, political sincerity and a secure future for its coming generations."
