Shillong: Shillong Tech Park has generated 1,454 jobs for local youth. Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma shared these figures during the Meghalaya Assembly Autumn Session on August 26. He responded to a query from MLA Banteidor Lyngdoh regarding the facility. The first phase is fully operational and currently at capacity.
Women lead the workforce numbers. Of the total jobs created, 772 went to women and 682 to men. The park employs 881 people on-site, including 474 women and 407 men. During the session, Sangma confirmed the status of the site to the House. "Shillong Tech Park Phase I has created 1,454 jobs for local youth," the Chief Minister stated.
Diverse companies drive this growth. Tenants include 24/7 Customer, HDFC Bank, Sirobilt Software Services, and Shamrock AI. TechDigital India, iMerit Technology Services, Pursuit Software Development, Magic Workshop, and the Meghalaya GIS and UAV Centre also operate from the park. Previous reports indicated the site surpassed 1,200 jobs. State officials now look toward Phase II and the Tura Technology Park to deliver thousands of additional positions.
