Shillong: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will open the doors to IT Park Phase II in Shillong this Wednesday. Construction finished ahead of schedule. The facility spans two lakh square feet and cost the government Rs 157 crore.
Badri Rai and Company handled the build. They started work in September 2023 and wrapped it up this August. Sources from the site confirm that many IT firms have already booked space in the new structure.
The state government expects this expansion to drive growth. Officials remain optimistic about their broader goal of generating 22,000 jobs through three tech parks in Meghalaya. The existing phase of the Shillong Tech Park in New Shillong currently supports 1,500 direct and 4,500 indirect roles. This new addition looks to build on that success, as the government stated that "Phase II is projected to generate 3,000 direct and 9,000 indirect jobs."
