Kohima: Students from across the Shamator district gathered at the Government Higher Secondary School on June 15 for a science exhibition themed Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat. The event encouraged local youth to present creative solutions to complex problems through hands-on demonstrations and technical models.

Participants displayed a variety of functional inventions, including solar-powered irrigation systems, electromagnetic power generation models, and vacuum cleaners driven by air pressure technology. The exhibition aimed to boost scientific temper and provide a practical space for students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Special guest Mekato J. Aye, the EAC of Shamator, toured the event to engage with the young inventors and their instructors. During his address, he highlighted the vital role women play in the advancement of science and technology across India. He reminded the students that curiosity remains the bedrock of progress, stating that every invention begins with a question and that science is deeply connected to everyday life.

The event concluded with an inspection of the projects and positive feedback from officials regarding the quality of the student work. By connecting local challenges to broader technological advancements, the exhibition underscored a regional commitment to fostering the next generation of innovators.
