Kohima: Sazolie College teamed up with Edunet Foundation this past Saturday to host an IBM SkillsBuild training session at Vineizono Hall. Students, faculty, and staff gathered in Jotsoma to study Artificial Intelligence and emerging digital tools.
Principal Dr. Gopal Chetri kicked off the event. He told the audience they must keep pace with technological shifts and grab opportunities in the digital sphere. Deepneel Majumdar, a professional from Edunet Foundation, then led the orientation. He pushed the group to pursue constant learning to gain industry-ready skills.
Majumdar broke down AI fundamentals for the crowd. He explained how systems mimic human intelligence to handle decision making, creativity, and problem solving. He noted: "AI enables computer systems to perform tasks linked to human intelligence such as learning, problem solving, decision making and creativity."
The training moved into technical territory with prompt engineering. Participants practiced zero shot, one shot, few shot, negative, iterative, prompt chaining, and Chain of Thought prompting. These techniques help users talk to generative AI tools more effectively. Majumdar urged everyone to use these platforms responsibly while building their digital literacy and critical thinking. The day wrapped with a clear message on lifelong learning and career preparedness in a modern, digital environment.

The training officially fell under the IBM SkillsBuild for Adult Learners banner. Majumdar expanded the scope of the talk to cover how these tools change daily life, professional workflows, and classroom routines.
He also noted that AI systems can handle the task of understanding information in addition to the previously mentioned skills. The session included a hands-on portion where teachers and students tested various AI tools to see how they apply to creative work and professional development.
