Kohima: The PWD/Supply Sumi Students Union (SSU) hosted its inaugural felicitation and career guidance program on June 20 at the E Space Conference Hall in Dimapur. Held under the theme Navigate, Aspire, Achieve, the event served to honor academic excellence while equipping young students with the tools needed to navigate their future professional paths.
Union president Tova Kiba opened the event, which was coordinated by Liula Huska and Nito Kiho. Advisor Mughato Swu noted that the union aims to create supportive platforms that nurture talent and help young minds align their potential with career opportunities. During the ceremony, the union recognized several meritorious students, celebrating their dedication to their studies.
Dr. Khekuto Kiho, an assistant director and geologist for the Government of Nagaland, attended as the special guest and keynote speaker. Addressing the audience, he urged the youth to cultivate discipline and a commitment to lifelong learning. He told the attendees, "remain focused, develop skills, embrace learning opportunities and pursue goals with discipline and determination."
To round out the session, representatives from Mahendra Coaching Centre in Dimapur conducted a career planning workshop. This segment focused on navigating competitive examinations and understanding emerging job markets. General secretary K. Vinika Achumi concluded the program by thanking the parents, supporters, and participants who contributed to the event's success.
