Kohima: PIB Kohima held its second Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee meeting on Monday at Akashvani Kohima. Dr. Engam Pame, Additional Director General of PIB’s Regional Office in Imphal, chaired the session. Representatives from the Department of Information and Public Relations, Akashvani Kohima, Doordarshan Kendra Kohima, the Central Bureau of Communication, and the Defence Public Relations Office attended the event.
Dr. Pame framed the committee as a hub for sharing ideas and syncing outreach. He pushed members to back the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 goal. He warned that departmental work often fades away without proper documentation. Dr. Pame noted, "The committee enables stakeholders to share ideas, exchange experiences, discuss communication challenges and work collectively to improve public outreach."
The group reviewed June activities and mapped out plans for the next month. Members agreed to swap reports through the committee for submission to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The group must align messaging with flagship programs and national themes. They also agreed to meet on the first Friday of each month to keep the momentum going.
