Kohima: Government communication agencies met Thursday in Kohima to fix gaps in information flow. The Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee held its fifth meeting at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations. Members pushed for tighter links between agencies to stop fake news in its tracks. Ella Kayina of Akashvani Kohima led the session.
The room went quiet to honor Dr. Engam Pame. The Additional Director General of PIB and CBC died October 1 at 58. Pusebozo Sophie of PIB and CBC praised his record. He served over three decades after joining the Indian Information Service in 1994. Sophie noted that Dr. Pame stood out as one of the region's longest-serving Group A officers. He spent his career building bridges between government bodies and the press.
Representatives from Akashvani Kohima, Doordarshan Kendra, the Central Bureau of Communication, PIB, and DIPR detailed their recent outreach. New plans moved to the table. Mhareni Kithan from the Directorate of Census Operations and Alphonce Toppo from My Bharat asked for more support from media partners for their upcoming projects.
Dzuvinuo Theunuo, Director of DIPR, pushed the group to work faster. She said, "The importance of timely dissemination of accurate information" remains a top priority. She urged agencies to share updates via official emails so the department can spread the news through its own channels. The DIPR promised to back these efforts with its full communication reach.
