Kohima: Pfutsero business and mother's associations hosted a seminar on women's safety at the Pioneer Complex. Law enforcement and legal experts addressed the crowd. They aimed to secure safer spaces for women throughout the Phek district.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra warned of surging cyber threats in Nagaland. She identified dangers like deepfakes, image morphing, and online fraud. She told the public to stop sharing personal details and OTPs with strangers. "Protecting women is a shared responsibility," she noted during the event.
Dr. Batra called for tight coordination between churches, police, and schools to stop local crime. Advocate Sekhotso Rokha followed with a deep dive into women's legal rights. He covered protections against sexual harassment and domestic violence. Rokha warned that alcohol abuse frequently fuels family violence. He also reminded the community that child marriage remains strictly illegal for girls under eighteen.
PTBA Internal Complaints Committee Chairperson Vitale-u Leah Curhah said the group began work in April 2025. They want to ensure dignity in every workplace. Attendees joined a question-and-answer session to close the program.
