Noklak Officials Review Thonoknyu Block Development Progress

Kohima: Ministry of Rural Development Director Raj Priy Singh visited Noklak on July 14. He met with district officials at the Superintendent of Police Conference Hall to assess the Aspirational Block Programme. Singh serves as the Central Prabhari Officer for Thonoknyu block.

He discussed the Viksit Bharat 2047 roadmap. The government targets four specific groups. These include youth, the poor, women, and farmers. Singh also promoted the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin program. This initiative prioritizes water security, rural infrastructure, and climate resilience. He urged stakeholders to collaborate on regional growth.

Nodal Officer Vikhoto Richa detailed the block performance across health, nutrition, social development, agriculture, education, and basic infrastructure. He outlined steep hurdles for the area. Remote locations and rugged terrain block progress. Poor roads and limited banking services remain constant issues. Discrepancies in data and staffing shortages further complicate the work.

Deputy Commissioner P Mono Khiamniungan chaired the session and praised the staff for their recent success. He noted, "Thonoknyu secured the first position in the Delta Ranking for the October December 2025 assessment period." The meeting concluded with a call for continued local coordination.
