Guwahati: Noida police found a 19-year-old woman dead in a Baraula paying guest house on Monday. Officers entered the property after a foul smell drifted from a locked room belonging to a man named Raman. The victim, identified as Mehak, had traveled from Assam with Raman to hunt for private-sector jobs. He remains missing. Raman holds a B.Tech degree and previously worked for an IT company.

Investigators discovered multiple injury marks on Mehak. A sharp-edged weapon likely caused the wounds. Police officials stated that the "exact cause and circumstances of her death are being established through the investigation." Sector 49 police registered an FIR and formed three teams to track down Raman.

Forensic teams processed the crime scene while police pulled CCTV footage from the area to piece together the timeline. Authorities seized Mehak’s mobile phone for forensic analysis. They are currently combing through her call records and text messages to identify potential motives. Detectives are also interviewing PG residents and witnesses to find leads on the woman's final hours.
