Police Probe Death at Silchar Decorator Shop Following Money Dispute

Guwahati: A man from Gangapur died inside the Maa Padma Mansa Decorators shop in the Saratpally area of Silchar. Police discovered his body on Monday morning after opening the shutters. The incident began on October 5. The man worked in decoration services.

His family claims the shop owner held him captive starting Sunday. A money dispute sparked the conflict. Family members searched for the man throughout Sunday night after he went missing. They could not find him before the morning discovery. The family stated, "efforts were made to resolve the matter through a settlement, but no resolution was reached."

Forensic investigators visited the scene to collect samples. Police officers are now working to determine exactly how and when the man died. They are currently reviewing the case to see if others played a role in the death. A post-mortem report will provide the final cause of death as the investigation moves forward.
