Guwahati: Police arrested Mani Majumdar for allegedly setting fire to a warehouse in North Krishnapur, Silchar. The October 26 blaze destroyed stock at Lovely Interiors. Warehouse owner Misbah Rajkhan filed a formal complaint at the Rangirkhari Police Outpost immediately after the fire. He wants justice.
Officers tracked Majumdar to his father-in-law’s home in Malugram. They took him into custody following their investigation. A local court remanded the suspect to judicial custody on Sunday. The legal process remains ongoing. Majumdar is innocent until proven guilty.
Rajkhan praised the response from local law enforcement. He maintains complete trust in the authorities. "If Majumdar or his son were to commit any similar incident after his release from jail, he would again seek legal recourse," Rajkhan said regarding future safety concerns.
