Kohima: Construction is underway for a new ECHS Polyclinic in Kohima. The Station Commander of Zakhama Military Station attended a Bhumi Pujan ceremony on Friday to mark the project start. It is a big win for veterans. The permanent building aims to boost health services for ex-servicemen and their dependants across Kohima and neighboring districts.
The current clinic operates out of Sainik Bhawan. After the ceremony, the Station Commander toured this temporary site to inspect operations. He checked the facilities and spoke with medical and administrative staff. He praised their work, noting their "dedication and professionalism in ensuring seamless relocation and uninterrupted healthcare services."
He also sat down with the Director of the Rajya Sainik Board and the Officer-in-Charge of the ECHS Polyclinic. They discussed how to better serve the local veteran community. The Indian Army remains focused on the welfare of its former soldiers through the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme. This new center will anchor medical support for veterans throughout Nagaland.
