Nagaland University IT Department Hosts Entrepreneurship Seminar

Kohima: The Department of Information Technology at Nagaland University held a talk on entrepreneurship on August 25. Dhiraj Kalita of Guwahati-based DK Tech Pvt. Ltd. led the session. He broke down financial planning, career growth, and income sources for the attendees.

Prof. Sujata Dash, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, kicked off the event before the faculty and student body. Dash pushed the students to sharpen their skills. She noted: "Make the best use of such interactive sessions to develop knowledge and skills required to succeed in a rapidly changing professional environment."

Kalita focused on financial literacy and investment options. He walked students through available government schemes and subsidies designed to help founders launch start ups. He pushed the crowd to shift their perspective. Students should aim to be job creators instead of chasing employment.

The discussion covered adaptability and how to stay competitive in the current job market. Participants asked questions and engaged with the material. Er. Shanchamo Yanthan, an Assistant Professor in the IT Department, wrapped up the day with a vote of thanks. The department pledged to keep hosting these events to help students prep for life after graduation.
