Kohima: A 10-member Nagaland delegation toured Tripura to learn how to improve their own renewable energy programs. Led by adviser Picto Shohe, the team spent two days in June reviewing the state's work on the PM KUSUM scheme. They wanted clear answers. The group spent time with officials from the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency to study project execution and funding.
The Nagaland team inspected a wide range of sites across the region. They visited solar water pumps in Sathdubai, a grid-connected plant at Tripura University, and a biogas facility at the Ramakrishna Mission. They also checked street lighting systems in Mohanpur. These sites highlight Tripura's progress in irrigation, rural power, and clean drinking water.
Adviser Shohe met with Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath to discuss better cooperation between the two states. During a review meeting, officials analyzed how to apply these successful models back home. They also sat down with Tripura University leadership to discuss future research and job training. The delegation left with a positive view of the region's work.
The visiting team commended the state's efforts during their exit briefing. They noted the value of the technical and financial aid provided to local residents, stating, "The Nagaland delegation appreciated Tripura’s achievements in renewable energy and commended its innovative approach in promoting clean energy solutions for irrigation, drinking water, rural electrification and community infrastructure."
