Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav visited the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Research Complex for the North Eastern Hill Region in Medziphema on Friday. During his tour, he reviewed the centre's progress in agricultural development and the practical application of new farming technologies across the state.

Officials presented a broad overview of their recent successes, including the development of drought-tolerant rice and improved cultivation techniques for the Naga King Chilli. The centre also highlighted its work in integrated farming systems, rainwater harvesting, and advancements in pig and poultry production. Scientists showcased their efforts in conserving indigenous livestock and distributing high-quality germplasm to farmers throughout the Northeast.

Yadav inspected various experimental fields, laboratories, and processing units while interacting directly with the staff. He praised the team for their commitment to sustainable farming and their efforts to improve rural livelihoods. The governor emphasized the importance of ensuring these scientific breakthroughs reach local fields to bolster food security and economic growth.
