Kohima: Nagaland Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen gathered department heads at the Kohima Secretariat on July 29 to prep for the state Independence Day program. Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha wants better turnout this year. Past attendance has been poor. He ordered all staff to show up and submit formal attendance reports once the event concludes.
Sinha also set a hard deadline for green office policies. Departments must stop using single-use plastics at all official functions. Imchen told the crowd: "Formulate practical and implementable action plans to enforce the plastic-free initiative." The push starts at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat.
Finance Commissioner Kesonyu Yhome reviewed state account balances and ongoing SASCI project statuses. The Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department presented updates on service rules and secretarial roles. Development Commissioner Y Kikheto Sema demanded that teams finish State Plan tasks according to established timelines. Meanwhile, Akubu Meyase discussed new strategies for manpower rationalization to improve how the state manages its human resources.
