Kohima: A 10-member Nagaland team visited Tripura to copy its renewable energy playbook. Led by Adviser Er Picto Shohe, the group spent two days touring solar sites and power plants. They want to bring these methods back home.
The delegation scrutinized projects under the PM-KUSUM scheme. They inspected solar water pumps and grid-connected plants at Tripura University and Agartala Land Port. The team also checked out biogas units and community water purification systems.
Technical execution impressed the visitors. Shohe met with Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath to discuss future state-to-state collaboration. The group praised the financial and technical support Tripura provides to its citizens. They noted the programs have helped the state reach significant goals in clean energy.
The department stated the visit was a push for regional cooperation. "The knowledge gained from Tripura's initiatives is expected to help Nagaland accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies and advance the shared vision of sustainable development, energy security and a greener future for the Northeast and the country," the department reported.
The Nagaland team finished their trip by meeting with Tripura University officials. They focused on building research and skill development programs. Nagaland plans to use these lessons to boost its own energy security.
