Kohima: A Naga youth collective issued an ultimatum to the Indian government on Saturday. They want a final political settlement for the long-standing Naga issue within three months. Failure to act will trigger a civil disobedience campaign.

Hundreds gathered in Dimapur for a rally titled Hear the Youth, Honour the Truth. The group, known as Fed up Nagas, delivered a stern memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They are tired of waiting. Eleven years have passed since the Framework Agreement and nine years since the Agreed Position.

The group claims this gridlock feeds corruption, extortion, and social decay. Society is fracturing under the weight of these delays. N Kitovi Zhimomi, convenor of the Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups, addressed the crowd. He admitted he was initially skeptical about the youth movement maintaining steam. However, their raw resolve forced him to change his mind.

Zhimomi noted, "The youth-led mobilisation had revived public focus on the unresolved political issue." He praised the organisers for capturing the urgent mood of a generation demanding peace and progress. The clock is now ticking for the Centre.
