Kohima: The Naga Students’ Federation lashed out at the Kuki-Zo Council on Sunday. They claim the council is trying to dodge responsibility for the abduction, torture, and murder of six Naga civilians. The federation insists the investigation must stay focused on the victims.

Tensions spiked over the council's use of the term Kacha Naga. The federation blasted the label as derogatory and divisive. They questioned the council's right to redefine indigenous Naga identity. The group argued these communities only appeared during the British colonial era. The federation stated, "It is outrageous that organisations representing the Kuki-Zo community should seek to classify or redefine the identity of the indigenous Naga populace."

Justice remains the priority. The federation rejected any attempt to spin the narrative through political statements. They demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of every person involved in the killings. This includes armed Kuki group members and any civilians who helped them.

The federation called on the central government to scrap the Suspension of Operations agreement with Kuki militant groups. They accused these factions of repeated human rights abuses. Officials must hold the guilty accountable. The federation vowed to keep fighting until they see justice served for the six victims.
