Kohima: The Inner Line Regulation Commission of the Naga Students Federation met with the Bhojpuri Samaj and Bihari Samaj on June 27. The session took place at Hotel Grand Vista in Dimapur. Both sides called the meeting productive. The commission gathered feedback to help shape the rules for the state.
The federation wants a fair process. It invited various stakeholders to talk through the issues. The commission stated the “implementation of the Inner Line Regulation is intended to safeguard the historical, political, demographic, economic and cultural rights of the indigenous Naga people under the existing constitutional and legal framework.”
The group noted that Nagas remain the only indigenous inhabitants of the state. They want to protect these rights through legal channels. Officials asked any groups who missed the meeting to contact the office soon. They expect constructive talk from all participants. The commission plans to finalize its recommendations based on these discussions.
