MP Tai Tagak Calls on Arunachal Aspirants to Pursue Nation-First Public Service

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Member of Parliament Tai Tagak challenged young civil service hopefuls to look beyond landing a paycheck. He demanded they become Karmayogis who put the country before themselves. Tagak spoke at the APCS HOME Sponsor, Student and Parent Meet 2026 in Nirjuli.

The event drew top officials including Speaker Tesam Pongte, Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, and MLA Tojir Kadu. Retired Major General Jarken Gamlin and Chief Information Commissioner Pate Marik also joined the crowd. These leaders gathered to push the next generation toward the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. The country turns 100 that year.

Tagak pushed for officers who carry the spirit of “Nation First” in every career move. He told the room, “Your journey should not end with clearing competitive examinations or securing government positions.” Success, he argued, requires integrity and compassion above all else.

The APCS HOME program is scouting talent across the state. Coordinator Bengia Ama noted the team visited 13 constituencies, stretching from Lumla to Anjaw, to find students from remote corners. Academic Head Neeraj Pandey pointed to the village of Madhopatti in Uttar Pradesh as a model for creating generations of civil servants. Project Director Ajay Tamang defined the core mission of the organization. They want to nurture young talent as “Eklavyas today and Karmayogis tomorrow.”
