Aizawl: Mizoram Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama sat down with India’s Ambassador to Norway, Gloria Gangte, at the Indian Embassy in Oslo on September 28. The two officials hashed out complex issues surrounding the diverse ethnic communities of India’s Northeast.

Lalbiakzama traveled to Norway after attending the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town, South Africa. His official tour, managed by the Ministry of External Affairs, also took him through France and Switzerland. Indian diplomatic missions hosted the delegation in those countries.

Ambassador Gangte hosted the Speaker and his wife for dinner to facilitate the talks. The discussion centered on national integration and the unique social fabric of the northeastern region. "The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the Northeast's social and ethnic diversity in the context of India's broader national integration efforts," the official statement noted.

Additional Secretary of the Mizoram Assembly Secretariat, Lalthangmawia, joined the Speaker for the trip. The delegation used the meeting to bridge local concerns with the government's broader national agenda.
