Aizawl: Governor VK Singh addressed the 5th College Cultural Day at Pachhunga University College in Aizawl on October 1. He told students to grab hold of modern technology and education. Do not forget your roots. Singh stressed that Mizo identity relies on the next generation understanding and carrying forward local traditions.

The Governor specifically highlighted Tlawmngaihna, a concept of selfless service, alongside kindness, courage, and community solidarity. He told the crowd that "cultural traditions bind communities together and can survive only when the younger generation understands, values and carries them forward." He pushed students to protect natural resources and peace within Mizoram.

Higher and Technical Education Minister Vanlalthlana joined the call. He argued that cultural preservation goes beyond wearing traditional clothes. Students should practice respect for elders and Tlawmngaihna in their daily routines. Power Minister F Rodingliana echoed this, asking youth to build a stronger future while keeping their distinct identity intact.

Mizoram University Vice-Chancellor Dibakar Chandra Deka attended the event as well. Pachhunga University College serves as a constituent college of Mizoram University. The school holds an A+ accreditation from NAAC. It secured the 49th spot in the 2025 NIRF rankings.
