Aizawl: Assam Rifles soldiers seized 2,537.72 grams of Heroin No. 4 in Mizoram. The haul carries a street value of roughly Rs 5.07 crore. It happened October 2 in the Zote area of Champhai district. Troops moved fast. They acted on intelligence reports about a pending narcotics shipment.

Personnel intercepted two suspects during the sweep. Both men are Myanmar nationals. Authorities searched the pair and discovered the stash. The final tally hit Rs 5,07,54,400 based on current market rates.

The unit handed the drugs and the detainees over to the Excise and Narcotics Department in Champhai. Officials there now manage the legal case. The agency stated, "The seizure comes amid continued efforts by the Assam Rifles and civil agencies to curb narcotics smuggling along Mizoram's border with Myanmar." This operation follows a string of similar busts in the Zote region.
