Guwahati: Dr. Kenneth V. Dodgson died on July 12 at the age of 100. The Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in New York announced the death of the veteran missionary doctor. He spent decades in Assam working at the Jorhat Christian Medical Centre. He helped countless people there. He arrived in India with his wife, Sally, after graduating from the Colgate Rochester Divinity School in 1948.

The couple earned wide respect for their medical and community work. Sally Dodgson died in 2017 after a career that included serving as the seminary's Director of Communications. The institution honored Kenneth V. Dodgson with its Distinguished Alumni award in 2011. He championed Baptist values like the dignity of every individual and respect for diversity.

The seminary credited his influence on students and the medical field. The school described his character as one that embodied "faith, compassion, healing and service." His life work proved that true education happens outside of the classroom. Staff at the institution noted his impact in a statement saying, "We give thanks to God for the life and legacy of Dr. Kenneth V. Dodgson, and we hold in prayer his family, friends, and all who were blessed by his remarkable witness." Future memorial service details remain pending.
