Guwahati: The Morigaon district education department handed out retirement benefits to 10 former teachers and staff on Thursday. This marked the 30th edition of the Nirontor program. It took place at the District Education Officer office.
Dr. Apurba Thakuria, the Inspector of Schools and District Elementary Education Officer, led the proceedings. Notable guests included Tiwa art expert and Assam Sourav awardee Nadiram Deuri, Morigaon District Sahitya Sabha secretary Kushal Bora, and Assam Unnati Sabha secretary Atanu Kumar Sharma.
Deuri highlighted the impact of educators on student success. He specifically credited his own former teacher, Kashiram Deka of Markangkuchi Primary School, for his achievements. "The selfless service of teachers plays a role in determining the future of students," Deuri stated.
The event also featured the release of a poem written by Tulumoni Das. Deputy Inspector of Schools Samar Barua attended alongside Adhyapika Parishad members and departmental staff. Closing the event, Dr. Thakuria encouraged the retirees to stay healthy and continue sharing their deep experience with the education sector.
