Minister Bashang Chang Honors Late Father With Hospital Visit in Tuensang

Kohima: Nagaland Minister for Public Works Department, P Bashang Chang, marked the first death anniversary of his late father, Phanglou Chang, by visiting the Tuensang District Hospital on June 19. Accompanied by his family, the minister chose to spend the day engaging with patients and healthcare workers to honor his father's commitment to humanitarian service.

The visit covered various departments including the dialysis center, maternity and pediatric wards, and general patient cabins. Chang personally checked on the health of those admitted and listened to their specific concerns. This event marked his fifth visit to the facility since his election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 2023.

Following his interactions with the patients, the minister held a formal review meeting with the hospital administration, led by Senior Medical Officer Dr. Senilo Magh. They evaluated current medical infrastructure, the effectiveness of government healthcare schemes, and the overall quality of services provided to the district.

Dr. Magh noted the positive impact of the visit on the medical staff, stating, "The gesture was meaningful for both patients and healthcare workers and reflected a commitment to public welfare." Hospital employees shared that the visit served to boost morale across the facility. Closing the trip, Chang pledged his ongoing support to improve resources and strengthen healthcare delivery for the local community.
