Medical Camp Provides Free Health Screenings in Kigwema

Kohima: A multispeciality health camp treated hundreds of residents in Kigwema village on June 28. The Dr K & T Keditsu Foundation teamed up with the Nagaland health department to offer free diagnostic tests and medicines.

The event drew 227 patients to the Kigwema Government Middle School. Medical staff provided 459 consultations covering surgery, eye care, dentistry, and general medicine. Teams also performed ultrasonography and blood tests for those in need.

Cancer prevention took center stage. A total of 164 people underwent screenings for oral and cervical cancer. During the event, Dr. Aneizo Khruomo spoke to the crowd about the risks of oral cancer and the importance of preventive care. He stated, "A total of 164 people underwent free cancer screening for oral and cervical cancer."

Thirty-five personnel staffed the site. This group included eight doctors and 22 paramedics from various local clinics and government hospitals. The Biocon Foundation and Putuonuo Hospital helped bankroll the operation. Village Council Chairman Khomeze Jacob Mera closed the event after a prayer led by health committee head Siechalie Yhosho.
