Imphal: Manipur police tracked down two suspects in an interstate drug trafficking operation on October 25. Officers apprehended the men in separate raids across the Kangpokpi and Bishnupur districts. These arrests stem from three cases filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the Senapati Police Station.

Roman Rai, 21, was hauled in from Kangpokpi. Amit Kumar Thapa, 35, was picked up in Bishnupur. Both men had been on the run for a long time. Investigators believe the pair acted as essential links between Manipur poppy cultivators and drug rings based in Rajasthan. Thapa carried a non-bailable warrant at the time of his capture.

Police are now hunting for the rest of the gang. They want to map out the full extent of this operation, which authorities say is "linking poppy cultivators in Manipur with drug traffickers operating in Rajasthan." Officials confirmed that the investigation remains active as they look to trace wider connections tied to the Rajasthan network.
