Manipur Chief Minister reviews state security with Assam Rifles brass

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh held a high-level security meeting on August 23 at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Babupara. He sat down with Inspector General Assam Rifles East Major General Inderjit Singh Bhinder and Brigadier Anshuman Tripathi, the Deputy Inspector General of 22 Sector Assam Rifles.

The officials went over the current state of security across Manipur. They scrutinized counter-insurgency operations, ongoing border management strategies, and the overall operational preparedness of the forces. Coordination is key. The talks emphasized tighter cooperation between the state government and security units to handle operational hurdles effectively.

Civic action programs also took center stage. Assam Rifles leaders briefed the Chief Minister on initiatives designed to support local communities and help bring normalcy back to the region. Khemchand Singh praised the force for their work. He noted the group's "continued commitment towards maintaining peace and stability and supporting efforts aimed at restoring normalcy in Manipur."
