Kohima: The Lenrih Federation convened its third annual general meeting at Longmatra village under the theme Empowering Every Voice. The event brought together members, self-help group leaders, and representatives to review organizational progress and plan for future sustainability.
During the opening session, Atsope Sangtam, the block program manager for Longmatra, urged attendees to embrace ownership and unity within their collective efforts. The second session transitioned into a business agenda where members deliberated on long-term growth and reviewed recent activities.
To bolster the federation fund, members unanimously passed a resolution requiring every self-help group member to contribute one kilogram of beans or other local vegetable produce. The organization plans to market these items collectively, depositing the resulting income into the federation fund to ensure financial stability.
The meeting concluded with the election of a new leadership team for the 2026 to 2029 term. Shapenthsi, representing the Azikeh Village Level Organization, was elected as the new president. The program was chaired by federation member Khalila and included a welcome address from the outgoing president, Telenthsi.
