Kohima: Landowners from Mokokchung, Mon, and Longleng met on October 30 to demand fair pay for road projects. The Affected Landowners Welfare Committee held its fourth general meeting at the Lampong Wakching residence of the Village Council chairman in Mon district. Tribal leaders and village heads gathered to focus on the Merangkong via Tamlu-Mon road and the Changtongya-Longleng road under SARDP-NE Phase-A.

N. Among Lemtur opened the event with an invocation. Chairman I. Korachiba Ao presented the activity report after confirming minutes from the third meeting. Ngamwang, the chairman of Wakching Village Council, gave an exhortation to the crowd. Attendees wore traditional clothing to mark the occasion.

Representatives took turns discussing the state of land acquisition. Chubasenba from Merangkong, H. Leisha Phom from Orangkong, and Y. Menpho Konyak from Longkei all delivered speeches. These stakeholders tackled the ongoing friction surrounding project welfare. The group adopted several key resolutions to move forward. Shangkok Konyak closed the event with a vote of thanks, stating, "Participants attended the programme in their traditional attire and concluded with a fellowship lunch." A mass prayer ended the day.
